Recently, Yorkville University celebrated a group of international students at its Vancouver campus who, over the summer months, completed a series of workshops which helped them acclimatize to life in Vancouver, both academically and socially.

It has been just more than a year since Patricia Regier graduated from the Master of Education in Adult Education at Yorkville University, but she remains passionate about and driven by the work she did there. So, much so that Regier continues to work to have her capstone paper published and uses it as the basis for presentations and to help organizations succeed in collaboration.

The Yorkville University community is thrilled to welcome two new members to the Academic Council. Yorkville MEAE graduate Barb-Colliar Brown has recently been elected as Alumni representative to the academic council, and Mary Benson, a current BBA student has been voted in as student representative. The Academic council is a body that helps to ensure proper governance of the university, and the student and alumni representatives play an essential part in ensuring that the needs of students and alumni are well-represented. Yorkville University alumni, Puneet Hayer grew up in Prince George and spent his early adulthood there, the idea of moving to Vancouver seemed like an elusive and inaccessible fantasy, that is until his Master of Education in Adult Education gave him the skills and the confidence to make it in the big city. Samantha Lightfoot enrolled at Yorkville University with the goal to make her dream of owning her own fashion label a reality. For Yasaman Saeidi, interior design is an art form that incorporates a multitude of modalities and philosophies including craft, architecture, spirituality, nature, and poetry. In particular, Saeidi finds inspiration for her interior spaces through poetry. Such was the case withThe Chamber of Light, a meditation centre conceived by the Yorkville University Bachelor of Interior Design student . The project was recently granted the third place award by the Interior Design Educator’s Council (IDEC) in the Advanced Undergraduate Student Design Competition category.
