As winner of Yorkville University’s 2019 President’s Award for the Bachelor of Interior Design program, Laura Goodsman was already considered top of her class. The fact that the multi-tasking 24 year old from Regina was able to secure the highest cumulative grade point average in her graduating class while also juggling a full-time job, a brand new marriage, and a pregnancy – not to mention an ’80s van-to-camper conversion – only makes her accomplishments that much more impressive.

Joanne Reeves-Rood will be pulling double duty on National Indigenous Peoples Day when she travels across the country to attend Yorkville University’s graduation ceremony. Not only will the 35-year-old full-time mom from Cochrane, Alberta act as valedictorian of her Master of Education in Educational Leadership class in Fredericton on June 21, but she’ll also get the opportunity to celebrate her roots by leading a traditional native tea dance for her fellow grads and their guests.
